Terms of Service

NestSplit (“Service”) is a web application at https://nestsplit.app that helps users track shared living bills, trip spends, personal expenses, and udhaar, and generate UPI deep links to settle balances. NestSplit is provided as a free beta product and may change, pause, or end features at any time.

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and meet any minimum age required by law to use NestSplit. You sign in with Google through our authentication provider (Supabase Auth). You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Google account secure.

You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate others or misuse invite codes, rooms, or join requests.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes
• Upload content you do not have the right to share (including receipt images)
• Attempt to access other users’ data outside rooms you belong to
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, security, or infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service beyond normal use
• Misrepresent NestSplit as a bank, wallet, or licensed payment provider

You retain ownership of the content you submit (for example expense notes, group names, and receipt images). You grant NestSplit a limited license to host, process, display, and back up that content solely to operate the Service for you and your group members, including optional AI extraction when you tap Scan receipt.

Group members can see shared group data. You are responsible for what you share in a group and for choosing trustworthy members.

NestSplit can help you calculate balances and open or copy UPI payment links using a UPI ID (VPA) a user chooses to provide. NestSplit does not process payments, hold funds, verify UPI IDs, guarantee settlements, or act as a payment gateway, bank, or escrow.

Any payment is completed in your UPI app under that provider’s terms. You are solely responsible for confirming payee details, amounts, and settlement outcomes with your group members.

The Service relies on third parties such as Google (sign-in), Supabase (auth, database, storage), Vercel (hosting), and Google Gemini (optional receipt scan / PDF import). Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or actions outside our reasonable control.

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using NestSplit, you also acknowledge that policy.

NestSplit is offered “as is” and “as available,” including during free beta. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability. Features, pricing, and data formats may change. We may perform maintenance or discontinue parts of the Service with or without notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NestSplit disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that expense calculations, exports, notifications, or UPI links will be accurate or complete in every case—please verify important amounts yourself.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NestSplit and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of the Service or inability to use it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (if any), or (b) INR 1,000.

You may stop using NestSplit at any time and may revoke Google access from your Google Account settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and ownership) will survive termination.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence provide otherwise.
